Base film for metallisation

The base film for metallisation is PP film manufactured using super clean electrical grade high-temperature resin and state-of-the-art manufacturing process. This is a low shrinkage film with a controlled smooth surface on both sides and corona treatment on one side. The base film is designed for high ambient temperatures to meet the needs of HVAC/HVDC applications, i.e. high dielectric strength and long durability. Available in thickness range starting at 1.9 um.

Metallised film

Metallised film for smart grid applications is dedicated to HVAC/HVDC capacitor applications at high ambient temperatures. It also displays excellent ripple current behaviour.

In order to guarantee film quality we only use our own base films in production (thickness range starting at 1.9 um). Metallising is done using a zinc-aluminium alloy or Bi-metal configuration (aluminium active area and zinc contact). All films are also available with a straight and/or wave cut margin or optional pattern printing. Depending on customer design (simple or internal series configuration) the resistivity profile can be either standard or individual.

Film for impregnation

Our film for impregnation has controlled surface roughness on both sides facilitating complete oil impregnation.

Our PP films are manufactured through the tenter process with super clean electrical grade resin. Each film can be used for all high-voltage power and filter capacitors – up to the largest sizes and with the highest stresses. Our RERT film has been designed to meet the needs of high dielectric strengths and long durability at high ambient temperatures.

Wrapping film for capacitors

Tervakoski Film wrapping films for capacitor elements are made of heat-sealable PP film with controlled shrinkage. Tervakoski Film wrapping films are specifically designed for wrapping purposes in the capacitor industry including films for ultra-high temperatures.
