Tervakoski Film capacitor films are the result of continuous R&D implemented in cooperation with our clients and partners. Our high-quality capacitor films help to decrease the amount of reactive power needed in large-scale infrastructure sites.
There are different types of capacitor needs often found within the industry and infrastructure applications. Most typically used products are metallised film capacitors for power factor correction, DC links, filtering and other industrial applications.
Tervakoski Film products are manufactured in-house from start to finish. Total control of the production chain guarantees the highest possible product quality and enables all kinds of tailormade solutions for our customers. We can react to special customer needs and produce unique product solutions for example individual pattern printing and wave cuts.

Base film for metallisation
Our base PP film is manufactured through the tenter process using super clean electrical grade high-temperature resin. This is a low shrinkage film with a controlled smooth surface on both sides and corona treatment on one side. Our films are designed for high ambient temperatures in order to meet the needs of high dielectric strengths and long durability in AC/DC applications. Available in thickness range starting at 1.9 um.
Metallised film products
Metallised film for industry and infrastructure needs is dedicated to AC/DC capacitor applications. The film also displays excellent AC ripple current behaviour. We use our own base films with thickness range starting at 1.9 um.
Metallising is done using pure aluminium, zinc-aluminium alloy, Bi-metal configuration (aluminium active area and zinc contact) or pure zinc (silver-zinc) metallising. All films are also available with straight and/or wave cut margin and optional pattern printing. Depending on customer design (simple or internal series configuration), the resistivity profile can be standard or individual.
Wrapping films for capacitor elements
We offer different film solutions for capacitor element wrapping to meet our customers’ needs. Our wrapping film products for capacitor elements are made of heat-sealable PP film with controlled shrinkage properties for better overwrap. Tervakoski Film wrapping films are specifically designed for wrapping purposes in the capacitor industry.
