Base film for metallisation

The base film for metallisation is PP film manufactured through the tenter process using super clean electrical grade high-temperature resin. This is a low shrinkage film with a controlled smooth surface on both sides and corona treatment on one side. The base film is designed for high ambient temperatures to meet the needs of AC/DC applications, i.e. high dielectric strength and long durability. Available in thickness range starting at 1.9 um.

Ultra-thin metallised film

Our ultra-thin metallised film is designed to meet the requirements of capacitors in battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Films for automotive applications are dedicated to DC capacitor applications at high ambient temperatures. They also display excellent ripple current behaviour.

In order to guarantee film quality, we exclusively use base films of our own production (thickness range starting at 1.9 um). Metallising is done using a zinc-aluminium alloy or Bi-metal configuration (aluminium active area and zinc contact). All films are also available with straight and/or wave-cut margin and optional pattern printing. Depending on customer design (simple or internal series configuration) the resistivity profile can be standard or individual.

Wrapping films for capacitor elements

Tervakoski Film wrapping films are specifically designed for wrapping purposes in the capacitor industry. We offer tailormade wrapping film solutions for ultra-high temperatures.

Setting the new performance level – ECU film

Tervakoski Film ECU is a result of the R&D process conducted in cooperation with our customers. ECU is an exceptionally strong capacitor film for demanding use cases – such as ultra-high temperatures of electric vehicle power systems.
