The story of Tervakoski Film
History
Tervakoski Film has its roots in Finland. Tervakoski Film was one of the first capacitor film brands on the dielectric market, more than a century ago. In fact, we have been around since the early days of capacitors, cables and transformers. Tervakoski Film has laid the foundation for the expertise and knowledge used in manufacturing today. This is why our brand still stands for industry-leading knowledge and superb support.
Gradually Tervakoski Film has gradually moved its production and headquarters from Finland to Slovakia. Nowadays Terichem Tervakoski, a.s. is a joint venture of Ab Rani Plast Oy and Chemosvit, a.s.

Tervakoski Oy from Finland becomes one of the first companies in the world to start producing dielectric materials for capacitors. - 1956
The production of metallised film begins. - 1972
The production of BOPP film begins. - 1995
A new production unit in Slovakia is added to the Tervakoski Films Group. Terichem a.s. is officially established. - 1999
A new production unit in Ukraine is added to the Tervakoski Films Group. - 2010
The Tervakoski Films Group headquarters, sales, R&D and metallising are moved to Svit, Slovakia. - 2013
A new base film capacitor line is started in Svit, Slovakia. - 2016
Launch of new metallisation line in Svit. - 2017
Tervakoski Film brand name and Terichem Tervakoski, a.s. legal name are introduced. New metallisation line launched in Svit. - 2018

Production units
Svit, Slovakia
Svit is a central location for the Tervakoski Films Group. The Slovakian unit employs around 260 personnel in total and is also responsible for sales, R&D, administration and logistics. Production is focused on films for metallisation and impregnation, manufactured using a tenter frame machine and metallised with aluminium, zinc or alloy. The factory is also specialised in pattern metallisation.
Lutsk, Ukraine
The production unit in Lutsk, Ukraine employs around 80 capacitor film experts.
The factory has one tenter frame process and mainly produces film for impregnation, metallisation films and wrapping films for capacitor elements.
