At the heart of our bustling capacitor film factories, we find that operators play a crucial role in maintaining the uncompromising quality Tervakoski Film is known for. With a combined experience of almost 40 years in capacitor film production, Dávid Šimko, Martin Buday, Martin Vechter, and Peter Šofranec give a fascinating glimpse into capacitor film production and how they maintain high quality in their daily work.

Credit for Tervakoski’s excellent products goes to every company employee

Maintaining uncompromising quality means that everyone contributes to production with the same vision. It also means high-quality raw materials and processes, as well as keeping employee expertise at the cutting edge of development at all times. Tervakoski also makes an effort to ensure and maintain an optimal working environment and culture for their employees.

“Tervakoski ensures consistent high quality through regular employee training, covering product safety, production line operations, and the handling of technical and technological devices. In addition, we conduct ongoing checks of the production line, parameters, and raw material quality. For me, maintaining Tervakoski Film’s superior quality involves a commitment to following established working practices, including measurement protocols and safety instructions,” explains Martin Vechter, Tervakoski’s Baseline Operator.

Martin has been working for Tervakoski for the last eight years. His tasks include preventive mechanical maintenance, quality control, and quickly resolving mechanical breakdowns.

Excellence demands accuracy, innovation, and problem-solving skills

In addition to using the machinery, the operators’ work also includes many more tasks. Martin Buday who has been working at Tervakoski for 12 years describes his versatile role as a Metalizing Operator and Team Leader as follows:

“In addition to operating the metallizer machine to meet customer specifications, I also work as a team leader. As a team leader, I ensure that other colleagues on the same shift follow all the agreed rules. It assures uniform procedures, which guarantee the best consistent quality of our product. I also advise them if any unexpected issues come up related to quality, machine adjustment, quality control, etc.”

Tervakoski has lots of different products, new innovations, and testing and trials related to them. All four operators greatly appreciate the variety and opportunity it provides for creative problem-solving in their work.

“As a Metallizer Operator, my work includes setting up, operating, and cleaning the metalizing machines to ensure smooth machine runs. It has a significant impact on maintaining the best quality of the final product. Besides operating the metallizer, I also check the quality and that all the customer requirements are met according to the product specification. I am very happy that my job is not only manual work and I need to think the whole process through and react to occurring situations”, tells Dávid Šimko who has been working at Tervakoski for the last four years.

A bright future ahead

“The last decade has been great, with lots of development on both the professional and private level. And I see only great things for the future as well”, concludes Peter Šofranec.

Peter has been working at Tervakoski for the last 13 years. His day-to-day tasks as a Main Operator and Team Leader include everything from setting the line to quality control, optimization and safety.

As long as skilled operators like Peter, Dávid, Martin B., and Martin V. continue to lend their expertise to the production process, the future of uncompromising quality remains bright at Tervakoski Film.
