Tervakoski Films Group has reached a major milestone in its growth journey. After years of planning, construction and installation, the new LISIM line is now up and running next to the headquarters in Svit. With the line’s installation finalized and initial test rounds completed, Tervakoski Films Group is ready to gradually begin the production of the ultra-thin capacitor films that customers have been eagerly waiting for.
This achievement marks far more than the completion of a project. It signals the start of a new chapter in our strategy to strengthen the position as a leading supplier of high-performance capacitor films globally.
From vision to reality
The decision to invest in a new LISIM line was made five years ago. It was a strategic move designed to secure long-term growth and expand the group’s capability in ultra-thin film production while boosting the whole production capacity.
Tervakoski Films Group’s LISIM line is the first LISIM line to produce capacitor quality films in the western hemisphere, also the widest LISIM line in the whole world.

The LISIM technology enhances the production efficiency and makes it possible to go down to the thicknesses necessary for automotive applications. One of the products the LISIM line is targeted to is Tervakoski Film ECU, the innovative film designed specifically for ultra-high temperatures in electric vehicles. Additionally the LISIM line can manufacture all kinds of films within Tervakoski Film product range.
Renovation of an old factory building began in 2023. Two intense years of construction followed in 2024 and 2025. In May 2025, Brückner started the line’s installation phase, bringing the project into its final and most technically demanding stage, while the construction work was simultaneously finalized.
“I am happy now that the line is running, but I must admit that the project has been hectic at times and quite tough for the different professionals involved,” says Ondrej Jačanin, Base Film Production Manager at Tervakoski Films Group.
“The main challenge for our team was coordinating the many subcontractors. Renovating a large factory area is not a simple task. It required the expertise of many designers and contractors. Our job was to manage and oversee everything”, Ondrej continues.

Choosing sustainability: renovating instead of demolishing
Rather than constructing a completely new facility, Tervakoski Films Group chose to renovate an existing factory building that had been empty since 2019. Located right next to the current production site in Svit, the building offered logistical advantages and aligned with the company’s sustainability goals.

The renovation transformed the former facility into a modern production environment capable of housing one of the most advanced film stretching technologies available today. The modernised factory also has the space reservation for another production line for possible future investments.
Strong collaboration and teamwork
“Our project team has done amazing work,” Ondrej Jačanin says.
Co-operation with Brückner, the supplier of the LISIM technology, was equally important.
“We have very good co-operation with Brückner, and their team is very open and very efficient. All necessary data was available in time for us to proceed with the project”, Ondrej notes.
Tervakoski Films Group and Brückner share a long and close co-operation spanning over four decades. The strong partnership ensured that once installation began, progress toward commissioning and testing moved forward smoothly.

“This long and successful partnership is really something special. Through the whole project execution, our teams were working very closely and professionally together. It is the only way to successfully execute such big projects. It works only with trust and mutual understanding”, explains Simon Weyerer, the Project Manager for Capacitor Lines at Brückner.
Successful test runs and qualification
Brückner managed the LISIM installation period faster than anticipated, thanks to the outstanding facility conditions Tervakoski Films Group was able to deliver.
“The quality done from Tervakoski Films Group, for example the utilities and the clean room conditions, were perfect with the highest standards. This made our life so much easier, since the overall performance of our machine massively depends on customer’s installation quality, the clean room conditions and customer’s personnel. They are all here really great”, Simon Weyerer explains.
Brückner finalized its own test runs and the first qualification phase has now been successfully completed. The guarantee runs extended over a long period, ensuring that performance targets were fully achieved. The results look very positive.

Since early January, Tervakoski Films Group has been running intensive test periods to fine-tune parameters, optimize different thicknesses and evaluate various resin types. Now the new LISIM line is producing films in all the thicknesses demanded by the market.
Next, the test rounds will continue with Tervakoski Films Group’s customers’ own test runs.
Ready to deliver what customers have been waiting for
Tervakoski Films Group can now focus fully on production and customer deliveries. For our customers, this milestone means access to high-quality ultra-thin capacitor films produced with state-of-the-art technology 100 % in Europe.
With this addition to the production capacity, alongside with the new metallisers and slitters, Tervakoski Films Group ensures that the whole supply chain can be handled in one company with full quality guarantees in the future as well.
The LISIM line in Svit is not just an operational upgrade, it is a cornerstone of Tervakoski Films Group’s long-term growth strategy. By expanding the ultra-thin film production capacity, the group strengthens its competitiveness, secures technological leadership and reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The project has been demanding, but the result speaks for itself: the line is running, the targets have been met, and we are ready to deliver. A new era of ultra-thin capacitor film production has begun in Svit.
